Tighter enforcement on CMCO beginning Tuesday

KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has decided to tighten the guideline of the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

The CMCO guideline, according to SDMC in a statement, will be enforced on Tuesday (May 25) at 12.01 am until June 7 at 11.59 pm.

Information of the amendment of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be displayed on the National Security Council (MKN)’s website from Monday (May 24) onwards.

Meanwhile, five areas were placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

They are Rumah Joseph Rungkai, Batu 8, Jalan Maskat, Labang in Sebauh; Rumah Bennnat Jumat Ujan, Sungai Kelawit in Tatau and Sungai Plan in Bintulu (from May 21 until June 3); and Kampung Tanjung Bundong Tradisi and Kampung Tanjung Bundong Phase 1 and 2 (from Monday [May 24] until June 6).

Apart from that, the end of EMCO has been declared at 16 areas, namely Blok D, Flat Taman Li Hua and Blok G, Flat Sungai Plan in Bintulu; Rumah Matthew Selutan, Sg Sarau; Jalan Sebauh-Pandan, Sebauh (which ended on May 20); Balleh Putai Hydroelectric construction area in Kapit; Rumah Empin, Skim B, Bintangor in Meradong; Rumah Elly Kerangan Langgir Wak in Pakan; Rumah Jangi Jambai, KM1 Jalan Ulu Sebauh; Samling Reforestaion Workers Quarters, Dg Mas, Samarakan; Rumah Musa Asit, Batu 17, Jalan Bintulu-Miri; Rumah Gerena Pi, Batu 17, Jalan Bintulu-Miri and Blok Q, Flat Sg Plan in Bintulu (which ended on Sunday [May 23]).

On Monday (May 24), the EMCO at Pakan, Rumah Abi, Ulu Amut and Rumah Gandai, Tubai Buah will be lifted.
