KUCHING: A state assemblyman has proposed that Sarawak civil servants be given time-based promotions as practised by the federal civil service.
Johnichal Rayong Ngipa (Engkilili) also urged the government to not re-employ civil servants who have reached the mandatory retirement age of 60.
“This is to give employment opportunity to youths who have just graduated from university,” he said.
He also urged the government to ensure that there was no racial imbalance in appointments into the state civil service.
