KUCHING: Newly sworn-in Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting intends to visit locations all over Sarawak to discover potential tourist spots. “I will listen to the people and look into areas which people think are potentially good spots,” he told reporters after a swearing-in ceremony held at the Astana here yesterday.
“They would tell us of the tourist areas that they think people outside would be interested to visit and see here in Sarawak,” Ting said.
He emphasised the role of media in increasing publicity for Sarawak. “We need to market Sarawak well so that people outside will know what we have to offer here,” he said. Meanwhile, he stated that in approaching his new duties, he would tap into the experience of Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and his former assistant minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.
