BINTULU: Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has pledged to help Sarawak enhance its air connectivity to boost the state’s tourism sector.
He said his Sarawak counterpart Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah was constantly discussing with him ways to increase the number of flights to Sarawak.
“I assure you that I will do my best and both of us must work together including with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg because there must be funds to promote and develop the state’s tourism attractions,” he said.
He said this during Progressive Democratic Party’s (PDP) Chinese New Year Open House at the Dewan Suarah here today (Feb 18).
Tiong, who is also Bintulu MP said he had gathered from grassroots leaders during this Chinese New Year that there are several places that can be developed.
“Among the tourism areas that can be further developed are waterfalls in Selangau and Sibu, and other locations,” he said.
