SIBU: All those who have applied for funds in the Dudong state constituency have been told to await their turn patiently.
In making the call Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong Chairman Datuk Teo Boon Siew assured that Dudong assemblyman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing will deliver on his promises.
“There are more than 200 longhouses in Dudong constituency, and more than 100 associations that applied for funds. I hope all can patiently wait for your turn.
“He promised, and I assure you, he will fulfill his promises but in stages. If not today, then the next day,” he said.
Teo was speaking at the handing over of funds amounting to RM258,000 to 17 recipients at the party’s Dudong Service Centre here Monday (Sept 25).
According to Teo, it comprised 12 special allocation programme funds, four rural transformation project (RTP) funds, and one personal contribution from Tiong.
“Make sure you use the funds accordingly,” Teo advised recipients, adding, everything needs to be accounted for.
“If you applied for kitchen renovation, then use it for kitchen renovation. You need to provide us with before-and-after pictures as well as all the details,” he said at the fund handing-over ceremony.
Teo added that at the end of every year, an audit will be held on all fund transactions at the service centre.
“If you do not provide us with details and transactions, in the future, if you apply for any help from us, your application might be denied,” he said.
Teo stressed that although Tiong was not present at the cheque presentation due to his busy schedule, he is fulfilling his responsibilities to the people.
Among the recipients were 12 Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Sibu Jaya Flat, Lembaga Pengelola Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Do Nang, JKKK Lapok Medan, JKKK Kampung Kedada, Persatuan Komuniti Durin Sibu and Sibu Senior Citizens Centre.
