KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has announced that preventive maintenance works on the Asia-America Gateway submarine cable network linking Malaysia and other Asian countries to the United States and Hong Kong has been completed.
In a statement today, TM said the maintenance works, which started on April 17, 2020, was carried out by a consortium of operators which maintains the submarine cable network.
“The impact to customers during the maintenance works was minimal due to proactive rerouting of traffic to alternative routes.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and would like to thank you for your understanding and patience during the affected period,” it said.
TM added that it will continue to monitor its network performance together with its consortium partners in other countries. – Bernama
