The Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Bill 2023 is scheduled to be tabled for a first reading in Parliament on June 12.
Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa disclosed that extensive consultations and feedback from various parties have been diligently incorporated in the development of the bill, adding that the decision to table the bill aligns with the Cabinet’s resolutions.
She explained that the bill is more comprehensive and covers not only conventional cigarettes but also emerging tobacco products.
