KUCHING: Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director, Datuk Seri Khaw Kok Chin, has been conferred the Panglima Setia Bakti Sarawak (P.S.B.S.) award, which carries the title “Dato'”.
The award was presented to him by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, in conjunction with the governor’s 78th birthday celebrations on Saturday.
Khaw expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Sarawak state government for the recognition.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and all the teams from the Sarawak state government for this honour,” he said.
Khaw also pledged his full support for Sarawak’s state programmes and initiatives, particularly in enhancing border security.
“We will deploy the PGA (General Operations Force) element to ensure the security of Sarawak’s borders remains intact,” he said.
Reflecting on his previous role as commander of the Sarawak PGA Brigade from 2016 to 2020, Khaw highlighted the unwavering support he received from the state government, particularly during the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and the election period.
