KUALA LUMPUR: A collaborative campaign launched at the MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2024 seeks to elevate Borneo as Malaysia’s premier tourist destination.

The “Discover Borneo: Malaysia’s Favourite Destination” initiative, spearheaded by the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) and Sabah Tourism Board (STB), aims to showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and unrivaled biodiversity.

“Together, we are unveiling the hidden treasures of this majestic island, inviting the world to experience the wonders that lie within its shores,” said Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah during the campaign’s launch at the MATTA Fair held at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC)today (Sept 7).

Borneo, the world’s third-largest island, offers a paradise where ancient rainforests meet pristine beaches, and majestic mountains rise above vibrant coral reefs.

“Borneo is more than just Sarawak and Sabah; it is a name recognised globally, evoking a sense of mystery and allure,” he said.
