KUCHING: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) has reaffirmed its commitment to work hand-in-hand with the Ministry of Transport (MoT) to elevate Malaysia’s tourism appeal and improve access to various attractions.
Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said this collaboration aims to draw a greater number of visitors to the country while introducing new air routes. These initiatives serve as catalysts not only for augmenting tourist arrivals but also for stimulating growth within the tourism and transportation sectors.
“With the support of all key industry players, both MOTAC and MoT ministries will continue to collaborate to develop a better ecosystem in the tourism and transportation industries to provide better overall services,” he said in a recent Facebook post.
Expressing appreciation for the collective efforts aimed at promoting tourism, Tiong thanked to all parties involved in the continuous efforts to promote the arrival of more tourists.
Reflecting on the resilience displayed by Malaysia’s tourism sector over the past year, Tiong praised the industry’s capability to establish Malaysia as a premier tourist destination in Southeast Asia, despite facing numerous challenges.
He credited the record-breaking number of foreign travellers to the region to Malaysia’s charm and appeal as a tourist hotspot.
