THE diversity of culture and customs in Balingian constituency hold out much potential as a tourism product.
Abdul Yakub Arbi when debating in support of the Head of State’s address at the DUN sitting yesterday (May 17), said such diversity would be able to boost tourism in the area.
“With that, we request that the relevant agency provide a ‘Kaul’ site in Kampung Litong, Kampung Sebuloh and Kuala Balingian.
“The parks in my area, have been recognised by visitors as having their own charm to boost tourism,” he said.
The assemblyman recommended that the Sarawak government upgrade the existing facilities so that they can be attractive.
He pointed out that the existing parks Taman Tanjung Pedada and Taman Kenyana are now abandoned.
