SERIAN: Local authorities in Serian are committed to maintaining the cleanliness of the area via gotong royong activities.

Serian Resident Tuah Suni said that such programmes were important to ensure the town’s cleanliness was maintained and could be an attractive feature to visitors.

“It is also important to show that Serian is a town which is clean, friendly, and bright,” he said when speaking at the Gotong Royong Mega event at Serian Community Park here yesterday.

He added that they had discussed and planned various initiatives to conduct gotong royong, especially to clean coffee shops and other relevant areas in the town.

“We also urge farmers to clean their respective farms by spraying chemicals to prevent flies from breeding and coming into the town area,” said Suni.
