KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Talent Recruitment And Career Exhibition (TRACE 2024) is an outstanding avenue for participating companies and organisations to recruit new talents.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that the exhibition is also a strategic platform for participating companies to broaden talent development that will shape industries for the future.

“Their investment in talent today will position themselves as drivers of innovation and sustainable growth for tomorrow.

“Their presence here today also reinforces their role as catalysts for growth, forging meaningful connections and future collaboration,” he said.

He said this in his speech, read by Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh during the opening of TRACE 2024 at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) here on Wednesday (June 26).

“Technological advancements with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), global connectivity and shifting market demands drastically.reshape the job market,” he said.

“As a result, this dynamic landscape demands the workforce to be adaptable, innovative and skilled.

“For job seekers, you must foster a culture of lifelong learning as well as be resilient and forward thinking.”

Awang Tengah said for employers, TRACE 2024 is not only a chance to tap into a diverse talent pool but also support to build a robust and competitive human capital.

“This will ensure the emerging workforce is well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the industry demands,” he stated.

On another note, Unimas Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit, said the event can help bridge the gap by providing an excellent platform for both employers and employees to meet in an interactive setting.

“This programme also allows job seekers and employers to meet face-to-face and exchange information through open interview sessions, thereby creating better opportunities for both parties to fill the available job vacancies,” he said.

A total of 77 exhibitors are participating in the two day event (June 26-27), consisting of government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and private companies from both within and outside Sarawak.

The programme is an annual event organised by the the university’s Centre for Student Development with the aim of enhancing the employability of graduates through networking with industry and showcasing the talents of future Unimas graduates as well as those from other higher education institutions around Sarawak.

Also present during the ceremony was Board of Directors chairman Tan Sri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie.
