BINTULU: Ramadan bazaar traders are reminded not to take advantage of the increase in food cost and raise food prices unethically during the fasting month.
Tanjung Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming cited they should sell food at a reasonable price, as he believes that if the price of food or drink sold is too high, it will deter customers from buying and affect income for their business.
“Ramadan is a good month and we should be kind to others (buyers). Don’t exploit the month of Ramadan by inflating the price of food,” he said when met by reporters after inspecting and distributing the iftar and imsak schedule to the public at the Ramadan bazaar in front of Hotel NU, today.
He also reminded Ramadan bazaar traders to keep the environment and food clean when doing business throughout the month of Ramadan and hoped the traders would focus on that matter.
