SARIKEI: A fire partially destroyed a traditional medicine store at Jalan Repok here on Wednesday (Jul 1).
According to spokesperson of the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, a call on the incident was received at 2.04am.
“Eight firemen of Sarikei Fire and Rescue Station, led by PBK II Bakar Ujang, was despatched to the scene.
“By the time the firemen arrived, the 6 x 18 square feet medicine store had already been 40 percent destroyed,” said the spokesperson.
The fire was brought under control at 2.46am and the cause of the fire and total losses are still under investigation.
