SANTUBONG: The installation of the traffic lights at the junction of Jalan Kampung Pasir Pandak/Jalan FAC at Jalan FAC, Kampung Pasir Pandak here will ease the flow of traffic from Kuching City to the Damai areas.
Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity Supply Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi pointed this out yesterday after the launching of the traffic lights.
“This road is one of the main routes used by residents from Kampung Pasir Pandak or Telaga Air to travel back and forth to Kuching.
“The traffic lights will also ensure the safety of the road users,” added Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the state assemblyman for Pantai Damai.
“Before, the journey from Telaga Air to Kampung Santubong would take 45 minutes but now it takes only 20 minutes,” he said.
