BINTULU: Traffic congestion at the traffic lights on Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi here will be addressed as soon as possible.
According to Tanjong Batu assemblyman, Johnny Pang Leong Ming, he received received complaints from the public regarding the traffic congestion and his team from the constituency People’s Service Centre has visited the location to understand, coordinate, and address the issue.
“I have received complaints from the public on Tuesday morning that the traffic congestion at the traffic lights located at the Jepak Bridge construction site is severe and the lines of vehicles are particularly long, especially for the commute from home to work.
“The People’s Service Centre team identified two main causes of the serious traffic congestion, stemming from continuous modifications to water pipes on the road, limiting the original dual-lane route, and the failure of the traffic light sensors, affecting the timing of the traffic lights.
“The unit responsible for the water pipe modifications stated that the project will be completed Tuesday evening, and the resetting of the traffic light timing has also been requested to be extended from Jalan Tanjung Batu Road to Jalan Abang Galau (town area) and Jalan Tun Razak (towards the Resident’s Office),” he said when met during an inspection at the traffic congestion site on Wednesday.
Therefore, he hoped that with the cooperation of all parties, the serious traffic problem could be effectively resolved.
On a related note, he also announced another road closure scheduled for March 29, and road users are urged to pay attention, adhere to traffic regulations, and always be patient.
