MIRI: A few kittens trapped inside the ceiling of a home in Jalan Pinang 8 here were rescued by three members of the Civil Defence Force (APM) on Wednesday evening.

Earlier prior to the rescue, upon hearing some meowing sound coming from the ceiling, the house owner, a housewife in her 40s, immediately called the local APM office for help.

She realised those sounds must be from some cats or kittens that might be trapped there.

The APM office responded to the alert call from her at 6.14pm by sending its three personnel.

After a few moments, they managed to locate the kittens’ whereabouts.

It was believed that the kittens somehow snuck into the woman’s house and went into the ceiling and were not able to get out from there.

“We believed the kittens are about two-week olds,” said one of the APM men.

After the ordeal, the kittens were brought to the APM office by their rescuers for further action.
