KUALA LUMPUR: Traveloka has forged a new strategic partnership with Malaysia Airlines, signifying a major development in both domestic and international travel.

This collaboration is to simplify the booking process and provide unique perks, further establishing Traveloka as Southeast Asia’s foremost travel platform.

The partnership was formalised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 2024 MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents) Fair, Malaysia’s largest travel exhibition.

President of Traveloka, Caesar Indra expressed pride in the collaboration, highlighting how it aligned with Traveloka’s mission to elevate travel both within Malaysia and globally, ultimately contributing to the growth of tourism.

Data from Traveloka shows a consistent rise in demand among Malaysian travelers, with flight search volumes increasing month-on-month since January 2024.

Popular international destinations for Malaysian travelers include Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and China.

Meanwhile, domestic travel demand has surged significantly, nearly doubling in the last quarter, with high interest in places like Kota Kinabalu, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur.

Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines, Malaysia Aviation Group, Dersenish Aresandiran, said this partnership represented a new standard for regional travel and highlighted Traveloka’s dedication to providing tailored travel experiences.

“As the gateway to Asia and beyond, Malaysia Airlines, in collaboration with Traveloka, sets a new benchmark in regional travel. By leveraging Malaysia Airlines’ extensive domestic and international connectivity with Traveloka’s advanced technology, this partnership demonstrates a clear commitment to delivering seamless, personalised travel experiences,” Dersenish said.

Additionally, customers can take advantage of a 50 per cent flash sale on Malaysia Airlines flights from September 7 – 9, 2024.
