KUCHING: Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd has contributed essentials, including rice and cooking oil, to the Cathedral Parish of St Joseph’s outreach programme.

Trienekens deputy group CEO Elvin Wee and COO Alice Lee represented the company in a simple handover ceremony on Monday (July 5). The parish was represented by Archbishop Simon Poh.

“Kuching Archdiocese Catholic Outreach, which is also known as The Outreach, is for the needy communities and it is led by Cathedral Parish of St Joseph’s procurator Fr Vincent Chin. The programme is locally coordinated by priests and lay leaders of different parishes.

“The Outreach started its first distribution in May 2020 followed by subsequent distributions to migrant workers in factories and construction sites around Kuching, Demak Laut and Kota Padawan.

“As of today, the programme has helped approximately 4,600 families with the help of generous donors,” it said in a statement today.

Trienekens disclosed that the contributions would benefit urban poor families and migrant workers throughout Kuching, Kota Padawan, Bau, Lundu, Serian, Bunan-Tepedu and Sri Aman.
