KUCHING: Drug peddling appears to be a job for some young people nowadays as three more youngsters who are not doing decent jobs were caught peddling drugs instead.
Sarawak head of Narcotics Supt Hasnir Abdul Hamid said, Narcotic police raided a house at Jalan Bunga Tongkeng here at 11.45am on Wednesday and caught three suspects with drugs on them.
He said police met a 26-year-old man in front of the house and he led them to a bedroom where a 23-year-old from Taman Bunga Akasia, Matang was inside. A third suspect, a female from Taman Tongkeng was sleeping on a sofa in the sitting room.
Police checked and found a black bag containing transparent plastic package containing eight small plastic bags believed to be syabu in the bedroom, weighing 6.88g worth RM700 in market value.
All three underwent urine test and were found positive for methamphetamine. They were detained under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 and face imprisonment not exceeding five years and whipping if found guilty.
