PADAWAN: Police arrested three men suspected of involvement in cable theft cases in Taman Desa Wira on Tuesday (Nov 5).
Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, when contacted, confirmed that the arrests were made between 3pm and 5pm.
Also seized from them was a sports utility vehicle (SUV) believed to be used in the crime.
It was understood that the suspects carried sharp objects to intimidate members of the public, who attempted to apprehend them in Stapok area.
Mohd Irwan added that the suspects, aged between 32 and 42, will be investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
The sections pertain to theft and carrying offensive weapon in public.
Recently, a CCTV footage surfaced on social media, depicting the suspects in an SUV allegedly stealing items in Taman Desa Wira.
