PADAWAN: Three men were nabbed by police for possessing drugs worth RM3,500 in a house at RPR Taman Sri Cahaya, Batu Kawa Tondong last Sunday evening (June 21).
Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said that the arrest was made by a team of Padawan Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division around 5.30pm.
The team raided the house and found three men aged 18 to 23 sitting in a room; they were suspected to be involved in substance abuse.
“Further inspections found a blue metal box containing four medium sized transparent plastic packets and 11 blue plastic packets containing crystalline substances believed to be syabu.
“The drugs, which weighed 55.50g and had a street value of RM3,500, were seized as evidence,” Aidil said in a statement.
He added two of the individuals had previous criminal records under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and that one of them admitted to have taken the drugs from an unidentified person and through bank-in transactions.
All three men along with the seized items were brought to Padawan Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division headquarters to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
