MIRI: Three men were detained on Friday for allegedly being involved in a series of house break-in activities here.
One of the suspects were nabbed after trying to evade a patrol police vehicle in Taman Tunku residential area around 10am.
Miri Police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari said prior to the arrest, a car driven by the 27-year-old suspect seemed suspicious, prompting the mobile police vehicle (MPC) to investigate.
Upon further inspection, police found a knife and two car keys inside the car.
However, the man suddenly became agitated and turned aggressive towards the two policemen on patrol.
“They arrested him for further investigation,” said Hakemal.
His arrest has led to another two male suspects from two separate locations, who were his accomplices in the house break-in activities.
One of them were detained by the roadside along the Jalan Meranti while the other one at a house in Sungai Dalam, Lambir.
Also discovered were several items believed to be stolen. The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
