SRI AMAN: Troops from the 13th Royal Malay Army Regiment (RAMD) conducted an operations dubbed ‘Ops Murni’ here at Kampung Hilir on Monday.

The operations involved 16 RAMD troops ranging from different ranks. In collaboration with the locals, activities included cleaning up the debris from a recent fire as well as carrying post-flood clean ups at badly affected areas.

Last Saturday, a fire destroyed a house and badly damaged three others in the 12.20pm incident.

The cleaning works went smoothly and was completed at 5pm. The army visited the village today (Jan 19) to donate food and pre-loved clothes to all victims.

Meanwhile in Serian, 32 army personnel were deployed to help clean up St Pio Catholic Church in Kampung Selabi Entukuh.

The village and its surrounding areas as well as several facilities were affected by the recent floods.

The Army reminded the public that they are always committed and ready to help the local authorities as well as the people who are in need of help.
