KABONG: Cash amounting to RM31, 600 is provided as a prize to the winners of Sarawak’s open Tug of War at Kabong’s Tanjung Kembang Beach on October 22 and 23.

Members of the public are invited to join Sarawak Open Tug Of War organised by the main committee of PBB Branch N.40 Kabong with the cooperation of Assemblyman Service Centre N.40 Kabong on Saturday and Sunday, Oct 22 to 23, located at Tanjung Kembang Beach, Kabong.

According to Najib Brahim, a member of the Tug of War managing committee, this event is open to two categories, men and women, the Sarawak open men’s category is limited to 16 teams only, while the women’s category is only open to participants from Kabong, Saratok District and invitations and only to 12 teams only.

He also said that the participation fee for each team amounts to RM100.00 of which RM50 is the fee and another RM50 is the collateral.

Another condition is that men’s weight does not exceed 650 kilograms and women’s weight does not exceed 570 kilograms.

This competition will be held at Tanjung Kembang Beach, Kabong and the system for both categories is a group league.

The closing date for participation is Wednesday, October 19 at 3 pm and for any questions and to obtain a participation form, fans who wish to participate can contact Najid Brahim at 019-8789840, John Jemat at 012-8927417 and Nur Elffi Amir at 012-2939624.

Najid added that for the winner of the male category, will receive a cash prize of RM6,000, the runner-up will receive RM4,500, the third will receive RM3,000 and each will receive a trophy and medal.

The fourth place will receive RM1,500 and a medal, while the fifth to eighth places will receive RM500 and the ninth to sixteenth place will receive RM300 per team.

In the women’s category, the winner will receive a cash prize of RM3,000; the runner-up RM2,500 while the second runner-up RM2,000.00 and each with a trophy and medal.

Fourth place will get RM1,500 with medal and fifth to eighth place to receive RM500 and consolation ninth to 12th get RM300 for each team.
