DALAT: The Parents, Community and Private Sector’s Involvement (PIBKS) tuition classes are very helpful in improving the results of Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) students in Oya and Dalat recently.
Minister of Women, Children and Community Welfare Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, who pointed this out, said this was evident in the results of two compulsory subjects, namely, Malay Language and History.
“This proves that our community does not leave schools alone in educating children,” she said.
Fatimah was speaking at the PIBKS Class Appreciation Ceremony and the Opening of Anjung Fatima at the Dalat Junior High School Hall here yesterday.
Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, said that the cooperation of many parties helped make the PIBKS classes successful.
“The Dalat District Office also played its role, especially in mobilising community leaders and tribal leaders (KMKK) to help the classes.”
Fatimah hoped that the tuition classes would continue every year to help advance education in this area.
