MIRI: A 72-year-old man who was reported missing after he failed to return home from his orchard on Monday was found alive and well for the second time on Saturday (March 25).

Zone 6 Fire and Rescue department chief Awangku Mohd Hazmin Awang Zainal said Salim Idris was found by Indonesian oil palm estate workers about 10km from his house at 7.15am.

“He was sitting next to an excavator of the estate when the workers found him this morning,” he said, adding that the senior citizen comes from Kampung Tiris Masjid, Bekenu.

According him, Salim was actually first found by villagers from Kampung Bulau a day after he was reported missing.

“They sent him to the bridge near his house but he did not head back to his house,” he said.
