SIBU: About two acres of land near Pulau Li Hua on Jalan Lanang, was destroyed by a fire last Friday.
A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire Department operations centre said no casualties were reported in the fiery incident.
Firemen from Sibu central station were despatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call around 8.15pm.
Upon arriving, about two acres of the land were on fire and the team managed to extinguish the blaze.
After ensuring the situation was clear of fire, the team members returned to their station.
The cause of the fire and property loss incurred is still under probe and therefore not known yet.
