SERIKIN: The 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment (11RAMD) handed over the duty of ‘Op Awas Keris/Parang Siri 2/2018’ to the 13th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment (13RAMD) in a ceremony held here last Saturday.
A parade led by Major Noor Azmeer Mohd Sani was held to mark the event which was witnessed by 3rd Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier-General Mohd Bustaman Mat Zin.
In his speech Bustaman said the 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment has come up with a Key Performance Index with excellence during the ‘Operasi Awas Keris/Parang Siri 1/2018’.
Hence, he hoped that the 13th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment led by Lieutenant Colonel Ismahizan Ishak, can continue the legacy left by the11RAMD.
The 11RAMD led by Lieutenant Colonel Salmi Istikh Ahmad has managed to uncover three theft cases, 23 illegal entry cases and 10 smuggling cases in an operation which ended on 31 March, 2018 with the seized items worth a total of RM884,831.60.
The handing over of duty ceremony which ended at 12 noon included a visit together with TNI-AD (Indonesian Armed Forces) to the town here.
Also present during the parade and handing over of duty ceremony were Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), Commandant of Kolakopsrem 121/ABW Brigadier-General Bambang Ismawan, Tasik Biru Assemblyman Dato’ Henry Harry Jinep, a representative of 11th Battalion General Operations Force, DSP Kinsi Billu, a representative of CID chief Bau Police Hqs, Inspector Ali Rahman Salleh and Kpg Serikin’s Village chief, Jipis Gobis.
