MIRI: Heavy rainfall that occurred for quite a while today has inundated low-lying areas in Baram.
Amongst those badly hit were two primary schools in Long Atip and Long Lenei.
According to Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Zone 6 chief Supt law Poh Kiong, the water level was high and the flood level was still increasing.
“However, there is no evacuation instruction as students from these two schools are at their respective homes,” said Law.
As of 7.30am this morning, SK Long Atip recorded water level of one metre high, while SK Long Lenei rose between 5cm to 15cm at 7.05am.
As of 9am today, the downpour showed no sign of letting up.
