BINTULU: Two women had a near-death experience after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a ravine along Jalan Samarakan this morning (Aug 20).
The victims, whose identities are not known, had been rescued out of the vehicle by members of the public before authorities arrived at the scene.
Both of them were taken to Bintulu Hospital for further treatment. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Bintulu station were despatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call around 8.35am.
On arrival, the team confirmed that the accident involved a pickup truck.
They only monitored the scene to ensure that there were no other victims in the vehicle.
After ensuring that the situation was safe, the operation was concluded.
