Two Covid-19 PUI cases recorded in Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded two new Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases for the Covid-19 yesterday.

According to a statement issued by the State Disaster Management Committee, both patients are Malaysians.

“One was recorded in Sarawak General Hospital and the other at Miri hospital.

“With these two new cases, the state has a cumulative total of 99 PUI cases recorded from Jan 10 until yesterday,” the statement read.

To date, the PUI cases comprises of 76 Malaysians, 20 Chinese nationals, one Thai, one Indonesian and one Canadian.

However, 92 had tested negative and seven are still awaiting results from laboratory tests.

As of 12pm on Tuesday (Feb 18), the Health Department has screened a total of 11,761 arrivals at various airports, land and sea entry points to bring the total numbers to 131,292 since Feb 1, this year.
