KUCHING: Sarawak today recorded two Covid-19 deaths from Miri, bringing the total toll in the state to 318.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the 317th death was Case 47,772, a 62-year-old local woman who had difficulty breathing a day before she was treated at a health clinic.
“The woman fell unconscious on the way to the health clinic. The medical team at the clinic said she showed no signs of life when she arrived.
“She was announced dead on May 30 and her remains were taken to the Miri Hospital by a forensic team for further investigation,” the committee said in its daily Covid-19 update statement today.
Her reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rT-PCR) test returned positive on May 30.
“She had high blood pressure, and dyslipidemia,” added SDMC.
Meanwhile, the 318th death was Case 42,519, a 65-year-old local woman who was treated at the Miri Hospital for difficulty in breathing.
“The case experienced symptoms such as cough and breathing difficulty three days before.
“Her rt-PCR test screening test was positive on May 23. Her health deteriorated and she passed away on June 3,” added SDMC.
It said the woman had high blood pressure.
