KUCHING: Two fire chiefs handed over their duties to their successors in a brief ceremony here on Monday (Sept 20).
The ceremony, witnessed by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) director Khirudin Drahman, took place at Bomba headquarters, Tabuan Jaya.
The event involved the handing over of Padungan fire chief duties from Melvin Amuk to Tan Min Chai, who was previously in the Public Safety Awareness Programme Branch, Fire Safety Division.
Meanwhile, Azaharul Sahari handed over Petra Jaya fire chief duties to Latif Iring, who was previously in the Operations and Station Management, Fire and Rescue Operations Division.
Aside from that, six others were also transferred to their respective stations, effective today (Sept 20).
Former Saratok fire chief Nazry Mohamat will now serve as the chief in Siburan, while Muhammad Shukur Jamaludin, who was previously in the Fire Safety Branch Zone 1 (Kuching), will take over Nazry’s position as Saratok fire chief.
Azman Ibrahim, who was previously attached to Limbang fire station as Zone 7 operations officer, will be serving as Lawas fire chief.
Rary Binjie, who was previously the operations officer at Semporna fire station in Sabah, is now appointed as Batu Niah fire chief.
In Sibu, Abdul Rasit Morni will begin his duties as Sibu Jaya fire chief after serving as the operations officer in Mukah fire station.
Wan Umar Wan Alek, who was previously attached to Petra Jaya fire station as the team supervisor, will now serve as fire chief in Tanjung Manis.
Also present at the ceremony were Bomba deputy director Tiong Ling Hii and Bomba assistant director of operations Henderi Ardimanshah.
