SIBURAN: Two houses at Kampung Gayu were flooded on Wednesday (Feb 9) due to continuous rain from evening to night.
A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a monitoring team was on the ground and found that water had risen as high as two feet, affecting a bridge as well.
“A team from Siburan Bomba continued their monitoring duty after receiving a call about the incident that happened around 10.51pm.
“The operations commander reported that two houses were flooded and the bridge was also submerged in water and mud,” said the spokesperson on Thursday (Feb 10).
A downpour on Wednesday also caused a tree to fall on a road to the village.
The spokesperson added that the latest status at the location was that the water had receded and rain had stopped. “No one was evacuated.”
