MIRI: A devastating fire engulfed two non-permanent, one-storey wooden houses in Kampung Setinggan Pujut, leaving both structures completely destroyed.
The first house, measuring 30 x 15 square feet, and the second, 10 x 12 square feet, were consumed by flames, reduced to ashes.
Fortunately, all seven occupants escaped unharmed.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operation Centre was alerted to the blaze at 1.31 pm via an emergency call to MERS 999.
Firefighters from the Lopeng and Miri Fire Stations responded swiftly to the scene.
The firefighting teams used a 200-foot hose with two nozzles and an auxiliary outlet to tackle the blaze, drawing water from a nearby fire hydrant.
Despite their efforts, both houses were razed to the ground, leaving only charred remnants.
The operation concluded at 2.55 pm and authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
