BINTULU: A man and a woman sustained injuries to their left hands after the car they were in, swerved and crashed into the bush along Jalan Miri-Bintulu yesterday.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the accident happened around 1.05 pm near Rumah Ambong, at Mile 22.
Firemen from Bintulu station were promptly despatched to the scene, about 33km from the station, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team confirmed the accident had occurred and found two individuals trapped in their seats.
Extrication works followed suit using rescue tools and both victims were later taken to the Bintulu Hospital for immediate treatment.
After ensuring that the situation was deemed safe, the team wrapped up the operation at 1.55 pm and headed back to their station.
