KUCHING: Two motorists sustained light injuries to their chests after they were involved in a four-vehicle pile-up along Mile 11, Jalan Kuching-Serian yesterday (Feb 8).
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the accident involving a Perodua Ativa, Toyota Fortuner, Perodua Viva and Proton Waja, happened at a traffic light intersection around 6.30am.
The driver and passenger of the Viva complained of chest pains due to the impact of crash.
Both of them were later administered first aid at the scene before they were taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the drivers and passengers of the other three vehicles did not sustain any injuries.
Firemen from Siburan station who were deployed to the scene, helped to carry out flushing works to clear the road of debris and oil spills.
In a separate accident, a female passenger sustained light injuries following a collision between a car and a pick-up truck along Jalan Song around 1.15am.
Due to the crash, the car landed in a monsoon drain and the victim was pinned in her seat.
Firemen from Tabuan Jaya station extricated the victim and took her to SGH for treatment.
The drivers of both vehicles managed to escape the collision unharmed.
