KUCHING: Two drivers sustained injuries after their vehicles skidded and crashed at different locations last night (July 8).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they were alerted to two accidents at 10.58 pm in Sibu and at 11.26 pm in Kuching.
In Sibu, firefighters from Sibu station responded to an accident involving a Toyota Avanza that had crashed near the junction to Jalan Sungai Bakong.
Upon arrival, they discovered the 43-year-old driver still in the vehicle and rescue efforts were carried out to assist him out.
The man, whose injuries were not known, was later handed over to paramedics for treatment on-site before being taken to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, in Kuching, firefighters from Tabuan Jaya and Padungan stations responded to an overturned Proton Waja along Lorong Stutong 20, Tabuan Jaya Baru 2.
Upon arrival, they found that the 46-year-old driver, who sustained a broken right leg, had been rescued out of the vehicle by passers-by.
He was handed over to paramedics for treatment on-site before being taken to the hospital for medical attention.
