KAPIT: Two men are still missing after an illegal barge sank near Nanga Ebau, Sungai Rajang yesterday. At 10.33am, Kapit’s Fire and Rescue Department (BBP) received a distress call from the police regarding the barge and two teams were dispatched immediately.
Seven people were reportedly on the illegal barge carrying a load of stones and five managed to escape. Unfortunately, Abhishek Kiran Jamdade, 20 and Kaishna Radheshayam, 28 were nowhere to be found. The In The Water rescue unit (PPDA) of Sungai Merah BBP were also dispatched to the scene to find the missing men.
The search for the two India nationals had been postponed 6 pm yesterday and will continue today.
