KUCHING: The State Health Department (JKNS) has declared two new clusters namely Bali Pie Cluster in Subis and Jalan Samarakan Cluster in Tatau.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the Bali Pie Cluster is a community cluster detected involving two longhouses in Sungai Bakas, Sibuti, Subis through close social interaction and close contact among the community.
“A total of 243 people have been screened, where 62 cases including the index case tested positive and 181 tested negative,” it said in a statement today.
All the positive cases were admitted to the Miri Hospital and PKRC Miri for the purpose of isolation and further treatment.
Meanwhile, the Jalan Samarakan Cluster is a community cluster involving a longhouse under the enhanced movement control order (Emco) in Jalan Samarakan.
The cluster was spread through close social interaction and close contact among the community.
A total of 79 individuals were screened where 49 cases including the index case tested positive and 28 tested negative with two cases still awaiting laboratory results.
All the positive cases were admitted to Bintulu Hospital and Bintulu PKRC for the purpose of isolation and further treatment.
The Health Department also declared an end to one cluster, namely Sungai Tengah Cluster, Bau after no new cases were detected or reported in the last 28 days involving this cluster.
The number of active clusters remains at 77 with 10 recording a total of 141 new cases while 67 clusters did not record any new cases.
