KUCHING: The state has recorded two new clusters today (Jul 31) — one in Beluru and another in Kuching.
In a statement from the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), it stated that the Jambatan Lemua Cluster in Beluru is a community cluster.
“The cluster involved two longhouses which is under the enhanced movement control order (Emco) located in Seputi, Bakong.
“Some 133 people were involved whereby 11 people including the index case tested positive, 118 tested negative, and four are still awaiting their test results,” it said.
The committee also added the cluster recorded two new cases today.
In Kuching, the Kampung Git Cluster is also a community cluster involving a few families in a village at Kilometre 27, Off Jalan Puncak Borneo.
SDMC stated that there are a total of 41 people involved with 20 of them tested positive for Covid-19, including the index case, and 21 tested negative.
“However, the cluster also has recorded only one new case today,” the committee noted.
Apart from that, SDMC declared the end of two clusters today, namely the Jalan Masket Cluster in Sebauh and Ulu Teru Cluster in Beluru.
It stated that both clusters have not reported new infection cases in the past 28 days.
“There are still a total of 84 active clusters in the state with 13 clusters recording an additional 55 cases,” said the statement.
