KUCHING: The State Health Department identified two new Covid-19 community clusters in the Saratok District today (July 22).
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the first cluster, dubbed the Ulu Senulau cluster, involved a longhouse at Nanga Gong, Ulu Senulau here under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
“Of the 57 people who were screened, 33 including the index case were positive, 18 were negative while the rest are awaiting laboratory test results,” it said in its daily statement today.
The second cluster, dubbed the Abu Bengang cluster, also involved a longhouse under the EMCO at Abu Bengang, Krian here, said the committee.
“Of the 193 people, who were screened, 131 positive cases including the index case were detected.
“Meanwhile, 46 individuals were negative while 16 are awaiting laboratory test results,” added the SDMC.
The committee also announced the end of one cluster, namely, the Jalan Bintulu-Tatau cluster in Bintulu after no new case was reported in the past 28 days.
“Of the 94 active clusters in the state, 12 have recorded an addition of 288 cases,” it said.
