KUCHING: The state recorded two Covid-19 related deaths today bringing the total number of fatalities to 101.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said both deaths were recorded in Sibu.

The 100th fatality was Case 9,605, a local 72-year-old woman, who was treated in Sibu Hospital.

“She was receiving treatment at the hospital when she was found positive after screening of Covid-19 symptomatic individuals with an rT-PCR on Feb 28.

“Her health condition worsened, and she passed away on Mar 24. She had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma,” SDMC said.

The 101st death case (Case 14,314) was a 88-year-old man who received treatment and was screened at Sibu Hospital for close contact with Covid-19 positive case.

His health condition worsened and he passed away on Mar 25. He had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia.

SDMC extended its condolences to the family members of the deceased.
