KUCHING: Two deaths related to Covid-19 were reported in Sarawak today bringing the total number to 99.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the deaths were recorded in Sibu.
The committee said the 98th death case was Case 13,143, a local 71-year-old man, who was treated at Sibu Hospital for gastrointestinal bleeding.
After an rT-PCR test, the man was confirmed to be positive on Mar 17.
SDMC said he had comorbidities of stomach cancer, stroke as well as artrial fibrilasi and that he passed away on Monday.
The 99th death case (Case 14,108) was a 69-year-old local woman who was found unconscious at home by her family members.
She was pronounced dead by an emergency team which came to her home on Mar 18. Her body was brought to Sibu Hospital for further investigation.
An rT-PCR Covid-19 test found her to be positive on Mar 20.
SDMC added that the case did not have any comorbidities.
The committee extended its condolences to the family members of the deceased.
