KUCHING: The state recorded two new Covid-19 deaths today (Apr 1).

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in announcing this, said the current death toll was 110 people.

The committee said the 109th death was that of a 68-year-old local man who was treated at Sibu Hospital for fever, cough, loss of appetite and needed breathing assistance.

“An rt-PCR test was conducted and he was found positive on Mar 28. His health condition worsened and he passed away on Wednesday (Mar 31).

“He had high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke and kidney failure,” SDMC revealed.

The committee said the 110th death was a 60-year-old local man who was treated at Bintulu Hospital after he was found positive through an rt-PCR test on Mar 10.

“He experienced breathing difficulties and needed breathing assistance. His health condition deteriorated and he also passed away on Wednesday (Mar 31).

“He had high blood pressure and diabetes,” SDMC added.

The committee extended its condolences to the victims’ family members.
