Federation chief, Georgina Chong said the donations were to solve the problem of insufficient or inadequate kitchen facilities faced by the two organisations.

Meanwhile, the Salvation Army Boys’ Home were given more than RM2,000 worth of kitchen ingredients and supplies.

Chong said the refrigerators were sponsored by the Women Section of the Kuching and Samarahan Division Zhang Clan Association and the Women Section supervisor, Irene Chu.

“I would like to thank them for their generous sponsorship although they are busy assisting the federation in the ‘Sarawak Anti-Pandemic Support Funds’ fundraising campaign, the Disaster Relief Team as well as the ‘Breath for Love’ campaign which provides ventilators to the Sarawak General Hospital.

“Despite all these, the Women Section is still able to lend its support to other charitable and welfare organisations in the Kuching area,” she said.
