BINTULU: A teenage boy was among two individuals arrested by narcotic police for alleged involvement in substance abuse in two separate raids.

The first arrest involving a 15-year-old boy, took place on Thursday (May 5) around Pasar Lama area.

An urine test found that the teenager was tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine drugs.

Bintulu OCPD Supt Batholomew Umpit in a statement, confirmed that the boy will be investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

In the second arrest, a man aged 32, was held on Friday (May 6) at Jalan Abang Galau area.

He added that the suspect was found in possession of a straw tube containing drugs believed to be syabu with an estimate weight of 0.8g.

The man will be investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which provides for a fine up to RM10,000 and a jail term up to five years, if convicted.

Members of the public are urged to channel any information related to drug activities to the police at 086-318304, the local police chief pointed out.
