KUCHING: Two suspects were arrested for raping a disabled girl in her early 20s which resulted in the girl giving birth to a baby boy in the Sarawak General Hospital, recently.
A third suspect is still at large and the police are presently tracking him down.
The two suspects aged 48 and 50 were arrested at a village in Padawan at 11am yesterday.
The rape victim is also from the same village.
Following a report lodged, police went to the girl’s village to arrest the suspects and they are being detained for further questioning.
The girl is still in the Sarawak General Hospital as she gave birth to a premature baby and police were unable to understand her as she is deaf and dumb. Police are waiting for an expert to communicate with her.
The two suspects will be charged under section 376 of the Penal Code and if convicted are liable to a jail term of 20 years and
whipping.
